Fall Fun

Some pictures that we took this weekend.  Cadence and her cousins all decked out for a costume birthday party on Saturday.  Again, happy birthday Steph, Alex & Justin!  Sunday was Fernandez family day.  We took mom out to eat for her birthday at Joy Yee's and then headed out to the arboretum to do a holiday family photo shoot.  We really needed a new family photo because Clarkie and Jakey were added to the family this year making the total of the Fernandez family NINE.  Yup.  Nine.  We've almost doubled in size!

Ronald's getting off work early so that we can take the kids Halloweening.  Can't wait!  Will share more pics of the kids in their costumes later.  That is, if they cooperate.  Haha.  :o)

Birthdays and Mr. Bubble

Just wanted to wish a happy birthday to my good friend Gloria who celebrated on the 27th.  And happy birthday to my Mom who celebrated on the 28th, although we aren't really celebrating until Sunday 'cause that's when the fam can get together.  It'll be fun.  Lunch and then a trip to the arboretum for family photos.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather!

So a few months ago while shopping at Target with Ronald and the kids, I found out that Mr. Bubble Bubble Bath is still around!  Mr. Bubble was one of my all-time favorites as a kid.  Now it's one of Cadence's faves.  How cool is that?  I remember one time as kids, Aimee and I were taking a bath and we used the entire bottle box of Mr. Bubble.  (Yes, box, as my sister has reminded me in her comment.  Bubble bath flakes!  And the whole box still didn't make enough bubbles for us, lol!)  Mom didn't buy us Mr. Bubble for a while after that, haha!  On the back of the bottle it says you can order Mr. Bubble t-shirts in kids AND adult sizes, and for way cheaper than what I found on the Internet.  Guess what's on my Christmas list?  :o)

Southsiders Sweep!!!

Congratulations to the Chicago White Sox, 2005 World Champions.  I caught the end of the game and just got done watching almost two hours of news coverage.  Awesome.  Even though I was born on the Northside and spent five years growing up there before moving to the 'burbs with my parents, I'm a Sox fan.  Don't get me wrong.  I'm a Cubs fan too.  How can I not root for both the teams who play for the greatest city ever???  Now I'm married to Ronald who would marry the Cubs if he could.  That's how much he loves the Northsiders.  (He lived on the Northside in the same house for twenty years.)  Right now I'm sure he is wishing that his beloved Cubbies were the World Champs instead.  At any rate, we both agree on one thing.  We're both happy for the city.  Yay Chicago!

In exactly two weeks my baby girl will be two years old.  Every day Ronald and I wonder how our baby girl became this little girl.  Reaching things on top of the counters without standing on her tippy-toes.  Helping out with Clarkie, giving him his pacifier when he's crying or holding his bottle for him.  Getting our shoes when we're getting ready to go somewhere.  *sigh*  Growing up happens way too fast.  Especially when it's your own kids.  Took this photo of Miss C back in September.

And since I'm on the topic of kids, my sister Aimee and her coolio hubby Elmer gave birth to their first child, Jacob Fernandez Capina, on October eight.  Jake's a super cute peanut.  Teeny tiny little guy.  At least compared to my two!  Aimee & Elmer, if you guys are reading this (you better be! haha), ENJOY every moment you have with little Jakey Poo because he will grow up fast.  Believe me.  I know.  Congratulations again, you guys.  More pics here.

Why blog?

I guess I could come up with a tons of reasons why I started this blog.  I've been wanting to start one for a long time now, but with two little ones both under the age of two, who has time for anything???  Ever since I was in the first grade I have always kept a journal or diary of some kind.  With all my journals I had a habit of starting at the beginning of each new year, promising myself that I'd keep it up til year's end.  Or until I ran out of space.  I think I only filled up one journal completely, and that was during my first year of marriage.  I guess I had a lot to write about then, lol!

Blogging allows me to keep on with my journaling, to keep writing and documenting.  But instead of pen and paper I get to do it with a keyboard and computer screen.  And hey, an added perk is that I get my daily Internet fix!  Oh, and I can't forget to mention the reason at the tip-top of my "Why blog?" list . . .  these two super duper cute kids.  In my universe, it's all about them.

Yay for squash!

Today Clark had his first try at eating vegetagles.  Squash by Gerber.  Fed to him by my mom while I took pictures.  He's a little behind schedule as far as our pediatrician's recommended solid food feeding schedule goes.  Clark started off with rice cereal several weeks ago, the most gentle of all foods.  (So I've been told.)  And wouldn't you know.  Just like his big sis he's allergic to rice.  Rice!  Dude, we're Filipino.  Being allergic to rice is just wrong.  Thankfully, Miss C outgrew her allergy to rice, and now she practically eats it every day.  So there's hope for Clarkie boy.  He's good to go with oatmeal cereal.  We'll see how he does with squash.  Hopefully he's a-okay with it.  I'm a squash lover myself.  :o)

Here I am

I did it.  I started a blog.  Finally.  I gave into the pressures that exist only in my head.  (According to my lovey dovey hubby, Ronald.)  Now I'm off to try and figure out what I'm doing which I obviously don't since my banner is all jacked up.  Haha.
