Awwwww...

The other day the kids were playing in their room.  In the middle of playing, Cadence went up to Clarkie, hugged him real tight and said, "You my bess fwen, Joo-yo."  Translation if you didn't get that:  "You're my best friend, Junior."  I started to cry (proud Mommy moment, how could I not?), and then Cadence looked at me and said, "Mama, you my bess fwen tooooo!"  My baby girl has a good heart.  Something tells me I must be doing something right.

Fundraiser that has been organized by Karen Russell.  All proceeds are going to an organization called Women for Women International.  The fundrasier is a drawing.  The winners (there will be more than 135 winners) will either win a 1 page layout completed by a “well-known” scrapbooker (using your photos of course) or a $50.00 prize package.  Make sure to check out the details on Karen's blog.  It's an amazing cause and I think Karen's an amazing person for organizing all of this.

that I had mentioned I would share from our day with my sister.  Pictures I took of her family, and pictures she took of our family.  And photos from our Easter weekend.  It was Aimee and me with the kids.  Had an Easter egg hunt in our living room and dining room, LOL!  Cadence was sweet enough to share the eggs she found with Clarkie and Jakey.  We also colored a couple eggs even though Jake fell asleep.

Easter Wishes

Had to share real quick

Yesterday we had lunch with my sister and her family at the Corner Bakery.  Yum!  Afterwards we did little family photo shoot next to the public library.  Found a really cool spot for pictures.  These were my favorites that I took of the three kids.  Will share more later.

BAM!

I ventured out of my comfort zone and made vegetarian stir-fry last night.  No crockpot.  No recipe.  Just me, the stove, a skillet and an open flame.  (Of course there were other things invoved, but I'm feeling overly dramatic right now.)  Can you believe my stir-fry turned out really good?!  I'm feeling quite proud of myself.  Tasty dinners two nights in a row.  This is huge, people!  Watch out Emeril, Wolfgang Puck, Rachel Ray.  Alright, so those are the only famous cooks I know aside from Julia Child whom I surprisingly used to watch quite a bit on TV when I was a kid and well . . . may she rest in peace.  Someday these cooks just might have some stiff competition from this cook-in-training.  Um, yeah.  Not.  Hahaha.  But a girl who's not so talented in the kitchen can dream, right?

A Little Inspiration

Yesterday's daily thought from RealSimple.com.  I don't spend so much time on their site, but I do l o v e their magazine and their books.  Imagine my delight when I found out that Real Simple has put out a little line of organizational products (calendars, to-do lists, etc.) at Target.  Cute stuff!  Got myself the little office caddy in dark brown with blue lining last night.  Planning on using it to hold paperwork stuff for my photography business. 

On the cooking front . . . chicken with stuffing, in the crockpot of course, was last night's dinner.  Made it once before and it turned out pretty good.  Changed up the recipe a little bit this time around, and it turned out great!  Ronald and Miss Cadence loved it.  Cadence even told her Daddy, "I yike Mama's chiten!" and then asked for seconds.  I have to admit.  Despite the fact that I have pretty much been the anti-cook up until a few months ago, it felt pretty darn good to know that my family thought my cooking was delicious.  Yay me!

CKU-A Review

Spent some of the weekend hanging out at CKU-A.  I got to help out my pal Carrie during the make & takes on Thursday and she also let me hang out during two of her classes.  Got a chance to meet a bunch of ladies (and a lot of them Peas!) who are as passionate as I am about scrapbooking, and I got catch up with friends that were also there.  Ali, who was teaching one of the album tracks, was kind enough to let me hang out during her classes on Friday and Saturday.  Girl is one amazingly inspirational scrapbooking life artist.  (Had to throw in that Ali-ism.)  Thanks to the Pubsters taking Ali's track who let me hang around their table and let me take pictures of them while they worked on their albums.  You girls rock!  A few pictures from the weekend.

I snuck into one of Cathy's album track classes and as soon as I walked into the room she immediately showed me to the way cool gift that her students had given her.  A cooler full of Flavor-Ice.  Don't you love that sultry photo of her enjoying her favorite treat?  Hee!  Too funny!
