Got a lot done on the scrapbook front this long weekend.  Finished my seeds for the Garden. I had to get my seeds early since this week will be a busy one for me.  I'll be working on getting projects done for Prima and Hero.  On Thursday night I'll be the speaker for the 8th grade graduation graduation ceremony at the church school I used to teach at.  The class is a very special one.  They were the first class I ever taught.  I visited with them last week for an hour.  I think everyone in that class is taller than me now!  Funny though how some things never change.  Mike C. still buries his nose in books (not of the educational kind, lol) when he should be doing his assignments instead, just like he did in my 2nd grade class.  And Jamie L. sits in the back of the classroom.  Away from the group.  Like I said.  Some things never change.

One year ago today

A picture of me with my Clarkie boy, exactly one year ago today.  He's just two months old in this photo.  I love when they are this small.  Now my little guy is fourteen months and he is into everything!  I know I'm always saying this, but it is so true.  They grow up way too fast.

In other news . . .

My camera is still in the shop and I have been suffering from major withdrawal.  Bad enough that I made a trip to Best Buy last night to ask about purchasing a D200.  Of course, they do not have any in stock in their store.  They did have more than 60 two days ago.  Ugh!  I cannot use the special 12% Memorial Day coupon that Ronald got in the mail on DSLR cameras.  Boooooo!  However, my desperation must have been extremely obvious, so much that the camera guy Vic and his  supervisor Dale said that they would give me 5% off if I ordered one of the thirteen cameras left in the warehouse on Sunday when the store opens.  Five percent doesn't even cover taxes, but it's something, right?  And I'd have a D200 in my hands by Friday.  Decisions, decisions.

I am sad . . .

One of my best buds Jeannie, who lives in Michicgan, came for a quick visit Saturday afternoon with her family.  Jeannie was one year ahead of me in the education program at the university where we both graduated from in southwestern Michigan.  We met the summer before I moved to Michigan, and we became instant friends.  Even though our visits, emails and phone calls are few and far between, we always pick up as if we had seen each other the day before.  It was so nice to visit and catch up even if was only for a few hours.

Saturday night after Ronald and I dropped the kids off at my sister's house, we drove into the city to attend my cousin Gina's 40th birthday party.  My Ate Gina has always been like a big sister to me.  Her party was held in an old mansion in Lincoln Park that was built after the Chicago Fire.  The mansion, which belongs to my cousin's friend, was enormous and had the best view of the city skyline from one of the 4th floor bedrooms and from the roof of the house.  Ronald and I have always wondered what it would be like to see and experience an old Chicago mansion on the inside.  Well, now we know.

So why am I so sad, you ask?  My camera.  It's in the shop.  I have no pictures.  No pictures with Jeannie or of her son playing with Cadence.  No pictures of the gorgeous mansion with its intricate stained glass windows, painted murals, decorative trim on the ceilings and elaborate chandeliers.  No pictures of my Ate Gina blowing out the candles on her cake.  Sigh . . .  Please come home to me soon, camera.  I miss you.

She did it!!!!!

Despite the trainwreck that we experienced during the wedding rehearsal on Thursday, Cadence walked down the aisle without me.  I really thought I'd end up walking or even carrying her down the aisle to the front.  But no.  She did it all by herself.  I was so proud!  Miss Cadence even smiled a little bit and threw petals out of her basket.  When she passed by her daddy, she even handed him a petal.  I think the throwing the petals out of the basket was a big incentive, lol.  A few of my favorite of the day.

Happy Mothers Day!

I am so blessed to be mommy to my two little rugrats.  Being their mom means being blessed with a love like no other.  To all you mommies out there . . . have a wonderful day!

Another picture share.  This little girl is THE cutest.  Love her curly hair.  Her mommy went to high school with Ronald and me.  She was one year behind us in my sister's class.

American Idol.  What a shocker.  I really wanted it to be Chris and Taylor in the final.  Bummer.  That's all I'll say 'bout that.

Received some love from UPS today.  A bunch of new stamps from Hero Arts and some 8x10 prints that turned out beautifully.  And speaking of Hero, check THIS and THIS out.  Really excited to be working with them.

Gave some love to Gymboree today.  Everything I got was on sale, plus I got 30% off my entire purchase AND free shipping.  Needless to say, I was a very happy customer.

Flowergirl countdown . . . Cadence's first flowergirl gig is this Sunday.  Rehearsal was yesterday evening.  She fah-reaked out.  Big time.  The big fat crocodile tears and screaming kind of freaked out.  And she did it more than once.  Sigh . . .  I blame it on the fact that she napped for only 30 minutes in the car and did not have dinner before we left.  (I did pack her a sandwich, but her grumpy ol' self refused to eat it.)  I'm going to be optimistic that things will go much more smoothly on Sunday, although I already know that I will have to walk down that aisle with her.  Good thing I bought a new outfit at Loft just for the occassion.  Ha.

Goodness, their eyes!

Wish I had eyes and eyelashes as beautiful as these siblings.  These three gorgeous kids belong to to friends that Roanld and I went to high school with.  Actually, their daddy and Ronald were classmates from 6th grade until we graduated from high school together.

Her favorite color

Right now Cadence's favorite color is pink, but for awhile she kept calling anything pink red, haha.  I wasn't much of a pink girl myself until I was 19 weeks pregnant and found out that our baby was indeed a girl. 

Created this layout for Prima.  Just received a box of flowers from them today and I can't wait to play with it all!  Good stuff.
