Merry Christmas!

Despite the fact that the kids are sick yet again (sigh...) - one with a nasty cough and ear infection, the other with strep throat - I am determined to make the best of everything these next few days.  We're celebrating with family and sleeping in our new house for the first time tomorrow.  Cadence can't wait to bake our cookies (ready made, of course) for Santa.  He'll be leaving the kids lots of goodies under our 4.5 foot Charlie Brown tree.  :o)

Baby Alex

Had a playdate yesterday with Cadence's "boyfriend" AJ and his baby brother.  While the kids were playing I did had a mini-session with two month old Alex.  Here are a few shares for his Mommy.

Busy day for us.  Off to see the doctor for an ultrasound (in 3D!) later in the morning and we're closing on our new house in the afternoon.  As if we weren't busy enough this the holiday season.  ;o)

This year's Santa picture

We went to take pictures with Santa at the mall during the first week of December.  Cadence was so excited.  We went with Cousin Jakey who sat nicely on Santa's lap with his Ate Cadence.  Clarkie Boy stayed in the stroller and sat off to the side facing away from Santa, haha.  Last year's Santa picture had just the boys.  Cadence was the one who was too scared.  Funny how things change in just one short year.  Thanks to my sister for the pic.  Swiped it off her blog.  :o)

Took the kids to get haircuts today.  Want to make sure they look spiffy for all the pictures we'll be taking.  Cadence was an angel.  She even let the hair stylist blow dry her hair which was a shock to Ronald and me.  She always disappears real fast whenever the hair dryer makes an appearance at home.  As for Clarkie . . . not so much an angel, unless there is such a thing as an uhappy, crying, screaming angel.  He did sit still for about three minutes when I stuck a lollipop in his mouth.  Poor hair stylist.  I made sure Ronald left her a very good tip.

blogs.  Yes, blogs.  Non-scrapbooking, non-photography blogs.  (There are too many of those to list!)  Haven't really posted on my own blog much this month, so I decided to share while I am waiting for a load of towels to finish in the dryer.

Slave to Target - Need I say more?  I love Target.  Who doesn't?  I think the author of this blog may love Target more than me.

Chaptastic - I admit.  I am addicted to lip balm.  Not lipstick.  Not lip gloss (although I do like to wear Stila's Lip Glaze in Black Cherry on special occassions).  Back in high school and college I was a total Chapstickaholic.  Before that it was Carmex.  Now my choice of lip balm - Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer.  Has been for a couple years now.  I have one in my purse, one in the diaper bag, one in the drawer of my bedside table and another in my coat pocket.  It's kinda nice that there's a blog dedicated to lip balm nuts like myself.

Veggie Talk - A blog dedicated to vegetarian cooking.  Author of the blog has written several vegetarian cookbooks that are supposed to be good.  No, I am not veggie.  My sister, hubby and son are though.  But oh how I love vegetarian cooking.  I'm on a mission to learn how to cook.  It's one of my new years resolutions for '07.  We'll see how that goes since learning how to cook is on my new years resolutions list every year.  Ha.

Little Birds - One of my favorite crafty blogs.  This one always has so much eye candy.  Makes me wish I could sew and knit in a really bad way.

My Little Mochi - Another wonderful crafty blog.

Olive Juice Co. - She's a super talented scrapper (I had discovered her work in the Gallery at Two Peas earlier this year) who sews.  She has her own little company called Olive Juice and makes gorgeous aprons.

Well, the towels in the dryer are done and it's way past my bedtime.  Must get to sleep so I can get up early and finish up my Christmas shopping at where else but Target.  :o)

On the nice list . . .

I'm thinkin' that Santa must have thought that my husband was very good this year because today at his work party he won an iPod nano!!!  In silver!  I was so excited because I've been wanting an iPod for such a long time and Ronald is really good at sharing.  Thank you Santa!

Ten days until Christmas.  Wow.  Christmas gift list is just about completed.  Just need last minute stuff like gift bags and bows.  Cadence keeps asking, "Is it Christmas yet?" and I keep telling her, "Almost, Baby.  Almost."  She wants Santa to bring her Bob the Builder tools.  Clark, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with Santa.  He's quite scared of the jolly old man.  No pictures of Clark with Santa this year.  Oh well.

Twenty-five shopping days left.  Eeks.  I better get a move-on.

Photo of Jakey. One of Clark's favorite people. Clarkie even made room for Jakey's name in his vocabulary of about twenty words.  He loves to yell, "Jakey!" whenever his little cousin is around.  And can you believe that the two little boys have already gotten into mischief together?  Just last month they "pruned" Grandma's favorite plant without her permission.  I'm sure there's a lot more mischief ahead.
