How that happened, I don't know. However, I do know that I am not ready! Kids and I are on Christmas break. That's the great news. Bad new is we have no tree, no decorations, and tons of gifts that still need to be wrapped. At least the shopping is done.
We spent the weekend having bunches of fun as a family. We saw Tangled on Saturday night and then spent all of Sunday soaking up the holiday spirit in the city despite the frigid temps. We enjoyed the decorations and lights along Michigan Avenue, and picked up a dozen cupcakes from Sprinkes. The kind gentleman who was in line before me (who, by the way, was quite entertained by the kids' antics - he was totally cracking up over them) told me that I could score a free cupcake by saying, "I am a gingerbread man." Sure enough, he was right! He said he follows Sprinkles on Twitter and that's where he got his intel. Thank you, kind gentleman. (I really need to sign up on Twitter!) I thought I'd pay it forward and told a teenager girl at the end of the long line the magic phrase that would earn hear a free cupcake.
Some pictures from our weekend. I must say, those camera phones come in handy when you don't want to pull out the big camera!
Waiting patiently for cupcakes out in the cold.
Rocket was in choo-choo heaven - train display at the John Hancock bldg.
Since I'm on vacation my goal is to post a few more times before the new year. We'll see how that goes. Happy Christmas-ing, everyone! Oh, and GO BEARS!!!
Whoa! Nice pictures. My goal for 2011, take more pics and try to get the exposure right. (sigh)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
