Decided to join THE SIMPLE THINGS challenge by one of my favorite scrapbookers, Rebecca Cooper. Thought this would be a fun challenge to help keep me busy this summer. And what better way to help me keep focus on the beautiful, simple things around me.

After 100+ attempts at taking a decent photo of all three together, Rocket finally decided to smile. Kind of. This was the very last shot I took with my camera before we headed home. Figures.

Because I've been so busy teaching, I've had total mommy guilt over the fact that I haven't taken many pictures of the kids. So I tried my best to play catch up in the gorgeous weather we've had here in Chicagoland.
In one week Miss Cadence will officially be a 1st grader. Unreal.

I still can't believe our baby is three. A very independent three, I might add.

Later in the evening we met up with Cousin Maeve for Thai food, a stroll along the Riverwalk and Red Mango for dessert. Love when the cousins get together. It's pretty much chaos when they do!

This is Baby Peyton. I met her over the summer during a family reunion in Wisconsin. If I remember correctly, she was about three months old. Her grandpa is my first cousin, which means that I am old! I couldn't say goodbye without taking some pictures and squeezing all her baby chub so we had an improptu mini-session the day we checked out of our resort.

Maeve & Madelyn - two little girls who like to play dress up, blow bubbles, giggle and make silly faces for the camera. That's pretty much what they did during our session! These two girlfriends are definitely BFFs for life.

Had to share these two lovely girls who are members of Madelyn's family . . . this sweet old girl was extremely camera shy. Every time I put the camera up to my face she turned her head away. I eventually got her though!
And the newest member of the family who at 9 weeks old has TONS of energy. It was a miracle that I got this shot. She was non-stop!

When I first met this sweet girl, I was completely wowed by her big blue eyes! She was a bit apprehensive upon my arrival as you can see in this photo.
We became fast friends though. Still can't get over the amazing color of her eyes.
By the end of our session, we were definitely BFFs! (Translation in case you need it = best friends forever.)
And now some photos of the newborn who has given my new BFF the title of big sister. It can be quite the challenge to photograph toddlers with their newborn siblings, as was the case here. Big sister was way more intrested in the blanket that they were sitting on (one that I brought with me) than her new little brother.
Little brother was wide awake for pretty much the whole entire session. Guess he wanted to party with the photographer. :o)

I had the chance to photograph this cutie, and at one year old she is quite the curious little girl. I spent most of my time chasing her around her backyard. She must have known I needed the exercise! It was a glorious morning during our shoot, much needed and appreciated with all the rain and cloudy days we've been experiencing in Chicagoland these past few months.

These two boys, whose daddy happens to be my hubby's twin brother, have the coolest wall in their bedroom. I couldn't miss out on an opportunity to capture them in front of their space wall, even if that meant they had to stand on the funiture!

I can't believe that Christmas is right around the corner! I was a little worried that Rocket would wreak havoc on our two Christmas trees, but the little guy has had no interest in our trees whatsoever, including the gifts that are already wrapped under the big tree. Thank goodness!
